Reading 時々ボソッとロシア語でデレる隣のアーリャさん in Japanese
Alisa, a half-Russian honour student, mutters what she really thinks in Russian, sure that the idle boy at the next desk can't follow it; he understands every word. The Japanese is a modern school comedy with everyday vocabulary, but her Russian lines are printed in Cyrillic, with their meaning only in the small ruby beside them.

How hard it is
Set in a school, with no fantasy terms to learn, it is easier than the isekai titles here. The narration is third-person and plain; the vocabulary that keeps returning is the school's: classes, clubs and above all the student council, whose election drives the story. The jokes lean on anime and game culture, and the Russian lines need the ruby to be understood at all.

Names and their readings
Readings as the official anime site gives them in romaji; the free sample confirms 九条 and 征嶺学園 in ruby. For the two sisters, the reading is that of 九条; the katakana needs none.

Things that trip readers up
- The Russian is printed in Cyrillic. Her Russian lines appear in 【 】 in Cyrillic letters, with what it means in Japanese as ruby beside it. A popup dictionary given the line gets the Cyrillic, which a Japanese dictionary can't look up, so read the ruby instead.
- Two names for each sister. The narration calls the heroine アリサ; 政近 is the only boy who calls her アーリャ, the Russian pet form, to her face. Her sister マリヤ is likewise マーシャ.
- Anime and game jokes. 政近 is a keen anime fan, and the first chapter's title already makes a joke about gacha draws in mobile games. The references come in dialogue; skipping one rarely loses the plot.
