Reading Re:ゼロから始める異世界生活 in Japanese
Natsuki Subaru, a high-school student, is summoned to another world on his way back from a convenience store and finds that his only power is to return to an earlier point each time he dies. The narration follows his thoughts closely and is dense: literary words and four-character compounds sit beside his game and anime jargon, which makes it harder going than most isekai light novels.

How hard it is
Most of the book is narration, and the narration is where the difficulty lies. It reports Subaru's thoughts in long sentences full of written-style words (喧騒, 侮蔑, 渾身) and four-character compounds, then cuts to his dialogue, which is casual and full of references to games and anime. Furigana helps with the rarest words, but the narration needs a much wider vocabulary than the dialogue.

Things that trip readers up
- Subaru describes his situation in gamer's terms. 経験値, 強制イベント and 異世界トリップ come from games and web fiction; he uses them to make sense of the new world.
- Compounds without furigana. The ruby goes to rare single words; four-character compounds such as 職務怠慢 and 現実逃避 are left bare. Split them into their two halves and look each up if the whole isn't in the dictionary.
- The story is told in arcs. Each arc (章) runs across several volumes: arc 4 ends with volume 15, arc 6 with volume 25 and arc 7 with volume 33. The manga adapt one arc each and put it in the title, from 第一章 王都の一日編 on, so check which arc a manga volume belongs to.

Reading it with Fusen
Make a collection for the series and save words with + as you read. The narration's written-style words come back across volumes; when one does, the popup marks it Saved 1×, and one tap shows the sentence where you first met it. The immersion reading guide describes the rest of the routine.
